Date Scones

Today we have to take our son to perform in a Charity Challenge music competition being held about an hours drive from home so I only had time for a quick bake.

I’d bought a bag of dates last weekend and decided to use them to make some scones.

As you may know from one of my previous posts, I’m always searching for a scone recipe that ensures nicely risen scones and was pleased to see Paul Hollywood had a scone recipe in his ‘How to bake’ book. I decided to give it a go.

Instead of making plain scones I added about 100g of chopped dates and worked them in to the dough before cutting out and baking for 20 minutes.

Here are the finished scones…delicious, well risen date scones.
