Fruity Flapjack

I have made flapjacks again tonight following the requests from my son to have some to take away with him this weekend.  I was also asked if I could make a non-fruity version.  Here is the recipe for the fruity one I made last week but feel free to leave out the seeds or dried fruit or add some chocolate chips and nuts to make your very own version.

Ingredients:
140g light muscovado sugar
4 tbsp golden syrup
140g marg
250g porridge oats
1tsp cinnamon

90g raisins
50g sunflower seeds
35g cranberries
75g dried apricots

Method:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 160 degrees celsius.
2. Heat the sugar, marg and golden syrup until melted
3. Mix the oats, cinnamon, dried fruit and seeds.
4. Stir in the melted butter, sugar and golden syrup.  Mix well until the oats, fruit and seeds are all covered.
5. Spoon in to a lined tin and press down firmly.
6. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
7. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin.
8. Cut in to pieces and enjoy.
